It was the top of the fifth as a massive storm cloud advanced to cover the field with surprising abruptness. Rose was at bat for the Bunting Beavers. There were two outs, and two runners on base. Rose swung, and hit a beautiful fly-ball past centre field. Everyone ran. As Rose turned at third base, the ball had been fielded and was making it's way to home plate. It was going to be close. The Beavers were cheering; Rose was running, and the ball was coming in fast. As Rose's foot touched home plate, there was a mighty crack of thunder from above and the Beavers had won the game.
